Obituary for Johanna Theresia van der Horst (Hermens)

VAN DER HORST, Johanna Theresia (nee Hermens) passed away peacefully at home in Port Dover on Thursday October 13, 2016 in her 86th year. Loving wife of Louis, dear mother of Mary-Lou van der Horst (Harold Hynscht) of Simcoe and Kelly Coley (Peter) of Port Dover. Cherished grandmother of Roland Hynscht. Predeceased by her parents Peter and Maria, brother Anton Hermens and sister-in-law Wilma Hermens. Johanna was an avid gardener winning a Trillium Award for her efforts in London Ontario, she was also a keen follower of current events especially politics, she also loved dogs. In keeping with Johanna's wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME 102 First Ave Port Dover (519)-583-1530. For those wishing, donations to the Ontario Horticultural Society or the Simcoe and District Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
